Central Library The Central Library of Indira Gandhi Polytechnic, Belwandi Sugar is a dedicated learning resource center that supports the academic and professional development of students and faculty. It offers a rich collection of textbooks, reference books, engineering manuals, Indian Standards (IS Codes), journals, and previous years' project reports across all engineering disciplines. The library also provides digital learning facilities, including internet-enabled computers, printing and scanning services, and a peaceful reading environment to promote research, innovation, and self-learning.   • 1. Borrowing Limits: Diploma students can borrow up to 3 books for a period of 14 days.
  • 2. Overdue Fine: A nominal daily fine will be charged for books returned after the due date.

Engineering Physics Laboratory The Engineering Physics Laboratory provides students with practical knowledge of fundamental physics concepts through hands-on experiments. It helps develop precision measurement, observation, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills essential for engineering studies. The laboratory is equipped with modern instruments such as spectrometers, optical benches, laser kits, and precision measuring devices, enabling students to perform experiments in mechanics, optics, and basic electronics as prescribed by the MSBTE curriculum. Engineering Chemistry Laboratory The Engineering Chemistry Laboratory offers practical training in chemical analysis, material testing, and environmental studies. Students gain hands-on experience in water quality analysis, volumetric analysis, corrosion studies, and testing of fuels and lubricants using modern laboratory equipment. The laboratory emphasizes safe laboratory practices and develops analytical skills required for engineering and industrial applications in accordance with the MSBTE curriculum.

Workshop

Workshop Superintendent: Prof. S. S. Salve (Mechanical Engineering) The Central Engineering Workshop provides students with hands-on training in basic manufacturing, fabrication, machining, welding, carpentry, and foundry practices. Designed as per the MSBTE curriculum, the workshop helps students develop practical engineering skills, understand industrial processes, and gain experience in operating workshop tools and machinery in a safe and supervised environment. The workshop is equipped with lathe machines, milling machines, drilling machines, shaping and grinding machines, welding equipment, carpentry tools, and foundry facilities, enabling students to perform a wide range of engineering workshop practices essential for their technical education.

  • Wear the prescribed workshop uniform or industrial apron along with safety shoes at all times.
  • Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety goggles, welding shields, gloves, and ear protection whenever required.
